Bal Thackeray: The King Of Hindu Heart

Bal Keshav Thackeray was popularly known as Balasaheb Thackeray. He was born on 23 January 1926 at Poona, Bombay. He was a journalist, cartoonist and a great politician of his time.

He was the founder of Shiv Sena. On 19 June 1966 he created his political party as according to the Maratha King Shivaji.

He can spontaneously give a speech without any paper like PM Modi. A huge public gathered just to heard him. He never met people. Actors, VIPs are came to him house to meet him like Narendra Modi, Michael Jackson, Amitabh Bachchan etc. White wine and costly cigarette are the two habits of him that he used to have it.

In 1999 his political career was banned as he couldn't participate in elections and couldn't vote for 6 years. But he never contested an election in his life.

Balsaheb used to be in the controversy on Hindu-Muslim war.

When explaining his views on Hindutva, he conflated Islam with violence and called on Hindus to "fight terrorism and fight Islam."

According to him, "Islamic terrorism is growing and Hindu terrorism is the only way to counter it. We need suicide bomb squads to protect India and Hindus." He also reiterated a desire for Hindus to unite across linguistic barriers to see "a Hindustan for Hindus" and to "bring Islam in this country down to its knees."

In 1990, the Islamic militant organisation Hizbul Mujahideen, through the columns of an Urdu daily Aftab, warned Kashmiri Pandits to leave the valley within 36 hours. Bal Thackeray got seats reserved in engineering colleges for the children of these Kashmiri Pandits in Maharashtra. He was one of the first persons to help them after which Punjab also followed suit. At a meeting with them he supported the idea that the Kashmiri Pandits could be armed for their self-defence against the Jihadis.

Before 2 months of his death he made an announcement that handed him the Indian army so that he can make everything fine in India in just one month only.

17 November 2012 was the date of Thackeray's last breath. That day the entire Mumbai had shut down. 5 lakhs tenants were gathered just to have a last interaction with the King of Hindu Heart. On this day Mumbai was sloganed "Bala Saheb:Amar Rahe". He was not the CM of the state nor an MP also but he was honored with a 21-gun salute.
