And reports from People say that's just what's happening. Meanwhile, Javed, who lives in Bhopal, earns Rs 200-300 per day. Auto driver Javed has created an identity of humanity that has now become an example not only in the state but across the country. Javed turned his auto into an ambulance as the epidemic spread. This is because of the fact that the auto has oxygen for its patients.
Javed told a news agency that he sold his wife’s jewellery to convert his auto into an ambulance. In his auto, he has arranged for a sanitiser, an oxygen cylinder, a PPE (personal protective equipment) suit, and some medicines.
According to him, “I queue up outside a refill centre to get oxygen. My contact number is available on social media. People can call me up if there’s no ambulance. I’ve been doing this for 15-20 days now and have taken 9 serious patients to hospital.”
Javed, the driver, says, "I saw on social media & news channels how people were being carried to hospitals due to the shortage of ambulances. So I thought of doing this."
