Saadat Hasan Manto
Saadat Hasan Manto was an excellent Urdu writer of 20th century. He belongs to colonial India and Pakistan. He was born on 11 May 1912 in Ludhiana, Punjab of British India and died on 18 January 1955, at the age of 42 in Lahore, Punjab of west Pakistan. Saadat was a great novelist, play writer, essayist, screenwriter and short story writer too.
The result of his skill seen in drama, nonfiction satire screenplays and personal correspondence.
Manto had done so many writings in his life. Some notable works are Tova Ten Singh, Thanda Gosht, Bu, Khol Do, Kaali Shalwar, Hattak etc. He got so many awards in his life. 'Nishan-e-Imtiaz' was one of them.
He strongly opposed the partition of India. His writings are based on the hard truth of the society. He tried thrice before the independence and thrice after the independence but never got success. He says, "A writer picks up his pen only when his sensibility is hurt".
Once he wrote sexual slavery life of a prostitute. His language drawn the reality with dignity they deserved. Lastly it was appreciated.
He was very open minded. According to him, "If you find my stories dirty, the society you are living in is dirty. With my stories, I only expose the truth".
Satyajit Ray
Satyajit Ray has given a new trend to the Indian Cinema. This Bengali man of 20 century was born on 2 May 1921 in Calcutta. At a time he was a film director, screenwriter, author, music composer, lyricist, graphic designer, illustrator and also a film critic too.
In his list of directions 36 films including feature films, documentaries and short are there. Most of his films are for teenagers.
Ray's first film was Pather Panchali. His other-directed films are Aparajito, Parash Pathar, Jalsaghar, Apur Sansar, Devi, Teen Kanya etc.
For his film Pather Panchali, he won eleven international prizes including the inaugural Best Human Document award at the 1950 Cannes Film Festival. In his career, he received 32 Indian National Film Awards, a Golden Lion, a Golden Bear, 2 silver Bears, An Academy Honorary Award and many more Major awards. He was an awardee of Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award of India. Moreover, he is considered as the great film director of the Indian film industry of 20 century.
MF Husain
Maqbool Fida Husain, popularly known as MF Husain. He is famous for executing bold, vibrantly colored narrative paintings in a modified Cubist style. He was born on 17 September 1915 in Bombay. The world knows him as an internationally appreciated an excellent painter.
His contents are sometimes treated in series that include topics like Gandhi, Mother Teresa, the Ramayana, the Mahabharata, motifs of Indian rural and urban life etc.
He did many more remarkable works but he is famous for 'Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities Through the Eyes of a Painter'.
In the list of his achievements the included awards are National Film Award for Best Experimental Film, Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, Raja Ravi Varma Award, Honorary Doctorates, National Art Award, Aditya Vikram Birla 'Kashikkar' Award for lifetime achievement, International Bien name Award etc.
Kishore Kumar
Abhas Kumar Ganguly better known as Kishore Kumar. Entire Bollywood calls him Kishore da. He was a favorite of all as an Indian playback singer, actor, music director, lyricist, writer, director, producer and screenwriter. Kishore was born on 4 August 1929 in Madhya parades.

Suzanna Arundhati Roy popularly known fir her writings. She was born on 24 November 1961 in Shillong. This Indian author famous for her novel. The God of Small Things, that won the Man Booker prize for fiction. She became the best-selling book by a non-expatriate Indian author.
Roy worked for TV and movies. In her writings, she expresses the variety of our culture, tradition etc. as in fiction.
