Dr.Kafeel Khan, a person who works in Baba Raghaba Das medical college in Gorakhpur of Uttar Pradesh. On the night of August 10, the central oxygen pipeline in the college premises started beeping, indicating low supply of the gas. The doctors and hospital staff knew that the supply could be maintained through emergency cylinders, but only for two hours. They didn't know what to do after that.
Dr.Khan has decided to brought oxygen cylinders from his friend's private nursing home to save the children. He had brought total 12 cylinders. At that night more than 23 children had died due to lack of oxygen, a huge number of death will occur. On the next day he was considered as a real life hero by the media for whatever he had done.
But that made weird for others. That especially made UP Government angry. Because it is a state government run hospital. Due to not deposing the payment con time the oxygen supplier stopped its supply. So the blame had automatically goes to Yogi Adityanath government. Plus the worst maintenance and poor management of the hospital got highlighted. That made CM Adityanath very angry. He believed that Dr. Khan done this for his publicity. CM also said that Dr. Khan can't be a hero by arranging some oxygen.
On 13 August 2017, Dr.Kafeel Khan removed as the Nodal officer for the Department of Pediatrics of BRD Medical College on charges of carrying out private practice. On the same day false allegations had been posted on social media.
On 14 August 2017, an RTI activist Sanjay Sharma had been appealed to the government regarding this. On its next day AIIMS doctors said that Dr.Khan was a scapegoat.
On 10 April 2018 Indian Medical Association comes out in defense of Dr.Khan arrested in Gorakhpur hospital. For them it was a conspiracy.
On 18 April 2018 Dr.Khan wrote a letter of 10 pages. In his letter he expressed what happened at that night and how he saved the lives of children that made him survive in the cage for last 7 months. In this critical months Khan's family had tried for bail for 6 times but lost in the rush of justice.
Finally on 28 April 2018 his bail was approved. The Allahabad High Court had released him with the result of no medical negligence and no evidence that proved he was the accuse. But from now his difficulties took birth.
On 11 June 2018, some unidentified persons attacked his brother severely. But fortunately he saved.
From the hospital incident to june 2018 he was an unemployed doctor. So hopelessly he shared his financial problems or how he was bankrupted on media.
On August 2018 the RTI authority replied to the activist Sanjay Sharma. That report said what was happened and how innocent Dr.Khan was.
On 22 September 2018 Dr. Kafeel Khan was serving children from a mysterious fever. When he was ready to address the media police had reached there go locked him in prison. After getting bail gorakh police arrested him once again. The allegation was Dr.Khan had made transaction of Rs.2 crore through the account open in 2009 with fake documents. After some days he released from the jail.
On March 2019 Allahabad HC orders Yogi Adityanath government to complete Dr.Khan case in between 3 months.
On 27 September 2019 an inquiry gave Dr.Khan a clean chit as clearing all the allegations. But after hours he rejoices over probe report. Government said yet to give clean chit.
On 4 October 2019 UP government lunches an inquiry department on Dr Kafeel for spreading misinformation about the probe report and for making anti-government political comments during the period of his suspense.
On 30 January 2020 Dr.Khan arrested in Mumbai over inflammatory remarks in AMU.
In 29 January he was granted bail by the Aligarh chief judicial magistrate on 10 February. But he wasn't released for the next three days, despite three release orders from the magistrate.
On 13 February 2020, bail order has been issued but government has found another way to punished him. Because he had done his responsibilities. Government has opposed on him the charges under National Security Act (NSA). INn this act it is necessary to prevent him from engaging activities that are prejudicial to the maintenance of public order. For the safety of National security Dr.Khan has to be in prison.
On 19 March 2020 dr Khan wrote a letter to PM Modi. He requested PM to release him from the cage through pandemic rules. Because he is a doctor after all.
On 13 May 2020 his time limit of detention was come to end. But before some days of completion, it is extended to 3 more months by UP government.
On 6 July 2020 he again wrote a letter about the worst sanitary environment, poor electricity supply etc. about the Mathura jail. According to him there is only one toilet for 150 prisoners.
On 27 July 2020 Allahabad HC has defected his hearing to 5 August 2020.
This is how a person is suffering. But what was his fault? He is a doctor a doctor after all. Is it his fault to do his duty? This is a loathsome work done by Yogi government. As showing the power of CM an innocent person has walked in the path of troubles.
