Now The World Championship Sprinter Will Be DSP

Hima Das is better known as an athlete. This girl from Assam will be DSP soon. Sarbananda Sonowal, the Chief Minister of Assam presided over a meeting with his cabinet Wednesday night. They have decided to appoint  World Championship Sprinter Hima Das as a Deputy Superintendent of Police in the state. Hima (Dhing Express) a 20-year-old girl famous as an Indian Sprinter from Assam. 

With the decision they decided to amend the integrated sports policy of the state by appointing sports persons as Class-I and Class-II officers in different departments of the state like Police, Excise, Transport etc, government spokesman and Industry minister Chandra Mohan Patowary told reporters.

It was decided that Das will be appointed as a DSP rank officer in the Assam police and medal winners in Olympics, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games will be appointed as Class- I officers.

According to the report, Hima holds the current Indian national record in 400 metres with a timing of 50.79 s that she clocked at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia. She is the first Indian athlete to win a gold medal in a track event at the IAAF World U20 Championships.
